Due to variations in global oil prices, petrol and diesel prices may rise today.
Following a Rs13.55 per liter jump in fuel prices on February 1, officials are reportedly considering raising the price of high-speed diesel.
The government has agreed to hike the price of high-speed diesel by Rs8 per liter from February 16. Additionally, petrol prices may increase by 80 paise per litre.
The rise in high-speed diesel pricing is due to swings in worldwide oil prices.
If the government decides to raise the price of diesel, it may potentially jump from the current Rs278.96 per litre to Rs286.97 per litre, depending on the premium and exchange rate.
