Abdul Aleem Khan, Federal Minister for Privatisation, advocated on Thursday to hasten the privatisation of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), describing the national airline as a profitable investment opportunity for prospective buyers.
Minister Abdul Aleem Khan presided over a high-level consultative meeting attended by important stakeholders and officials, which included a full briefing from the financial adviser consortia led by Ernst & Young on the progress made thus far and the future plan for PIA privatisation.
During the huddle, Mr Aleem Khan praised the efforts and progress made in the privatisation process, while emphasizing the importance of taking immediate action to capitalise on the investment opportunities given by PIA.
Minister Abdul Aleem Khan urged all responsible authorities to highlight the significance of the PIA’s privatisation.
He also thanked the Privatisation Commission for its diligence in facilitating the Cabinet-approved restructuring and segregation plan.
“It is critical that we accelerate the privatization process of PIA, given the enormous investment opportunity it presents to potential buyers,” stated Federal Minister Abdul Aleem Khan.
