According to the company behind the idea, it would have at least 30 rides and a 70-meter (229.6-foot) dragon in the middle.
The park would be the first of its kind in the world, drawing from the well-known media property.
Fans criticized the announcement, pointing to Saudi Arabia’s human rights record.
The Saudi Arabian government’s investment fund fully owns Qiddiya Investment Company (QIC), which claims that the park will span more than half a million square meters.
The QIC and Toei Animation, the Japanese company that produces Dragon Ball, have formed “a long-term strategic partnership” that includes these plans.
As per the official Dragon Ball website, the park is set to feature a roller coaster inside a dragon, which is modeled after the wish-granting dragon Shenron from the Dragon Ball franchise.
