“My goal would be to win a gold medal,” the team rider states firmly.
The Scot won silver in the team pursuit at the COVID-affected Toyko Games three years prior. Rather than satisfying her, the 33-year-old is left yearning for more.
Looking back on that incident, Evans recalls, “If I’m being really honest, there was a little bit of disappointment because there was someone standing on the step higher.”
“Having made it to the Olympic Games was surreal at first, but thereafter, there was almost a relief that I had won a medal. However, we were defeated in the end.
Many people respond, “But you still won an Olympic silver medal,” when you mention that. However, I recall feeling that “it could have been better” after completing all of this media. Although it seems haughty, there is a stark contrast in the feelings expressed.”

Evans and other British cyclists are all about winning. Among her collection are numerous gold medals from global and European Championships.
She will therefore enter Paris bearing the additional weight of being a world champion in addition to her own expectations.
