According to a warning from the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD)’s National Drought Monitoring Centre (NDMC), flash drought-like conditions are expected in the country’s heatwave-affected areas.
According to the NDMC, heatwaves-induced flash drought could cause a scarcity of rainfall in the nation this year.
The weather service stated in its advice that “the flash drought-like situation may emerge over most of the high-temperature regions of the country, keeping in mind the impact of the heatwave.”
