Declaring that he does not want to become like his own father, Simon Cowell has declared that he will not retire until he passes away.
The music entrepreneur stated in an interview with Hello! Magazine that he had no intention of leaving the music business before turning 65.
The TV judge revealed the tragic motivation behind his future goals, saying that he was inspired to work for as long as he could by his father Eric’s forced retirement from a huge corporation.
The four-decade veteran of the music business, Cowell, responded, “Oh god no, I’ll probably drop dead doing what I’m doing,” when questioned about his retirement plans~
He continued, “As long as I believe there’s a need or a purpose and it’s something I can do well, I’m up for it.”
He remarked that what his father Eric went through was tough, remembering that his dad had to quit his job after suffering a heart attack in 1999.
He said, “He could have continued working there for another 20 years because his brain was still so amazing.”
