The forthcoming home international season, which will feature a tri-nation One Day International (ODI) series, has been detailed by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). This series, which is being played for the first time in twenty-one years, will include Pakistan as the host country together with the national teams of South Africa and New Zealand.
All of the matches of the tri-nation ODI series are slated to be held in Multan in February.
Pakistan’s home international season is jam-packed with high-profile Test matches in addition to the tri-nation series. The national squad will play England, the West Indies, and Bangladesh in seven Test matches. According to PCB, the test matches would take place in a number of locales, including Karachi, Rawalpindi, and Multan.
After been postponed for 21 years due to security concerns, the reintroduction of such an event is a significant development for Pakistani cricket, demonstrating the country’s improving capability and preparedness to host international cricket events.
Bangladesh will be the first team to come in terms of Test matches; two will be held in August. First Test is scheduled for August 21–25 in Rawalpindi, and second test is scheduled for August 30–September 3 in Karachi.
During their October tour, England will play three Test matches. October 7 is when the first test will begin, followed by October 15 for the second and October 24 for the third.
