Positive outcomes are emerging from the government’s attempts to resolve the electrical problem and revitalize the country’s economy. Following a statewide crackdown on electricity theft, over 103 billion rupees have been recovered, and over 83,000 people have been arrested for power theft.
Over 230 million rupees were retrieved by the appropriate authorities from electricity thieves in Lahore, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Multan, and Islamabad between July 14 and July 21. Fifteen million rupees were also retrieved from Quetta, Hyderabad, Sukkur, and Peshawar.
The concerned organizations are determined to keep up their work until all instances of electricity theft are eliminated nationwide.
These actions are a part of a larger effort by the military and administration to stabilize the economy of the country and end the current electricity crisis.
