While traveling to do a performance on a cruise ship on Friday, Kelly Nelon Clark, her husband Jason Clark, and their daughter Amber Nelon Kistler passed away.
The disaster claimed the lives of Melodi Hodges, a family friend, Nelon Kistler’s husband, Nathan Kistler, and Melissa and Larry Haynie.
The fourth person in the quartet from Georgia and the youngest of the Clark sisters, Autumn Nelon Streetman, was not on the aircraft.
“Thank you for the prayers that have been extended already to me, my husband, Jamie, and our soon-to-be-born baby boy, as well as Jason’s parents, Dan and Linda Clark,” she stated in a press release.
As we traverse the upcoming days, we are grateful for your unwavering prayers, love, and support.
Rex Nelon, Kelly Nelon Clark’s father, formed the group in the 1970s, and in 2016 it was inducted into the Gospel Music Association’s Hall of Fame.
The Nelons were on their way to Seattle to join the Gaither Homecoming Cruise, which was scheduled to depart on Saturday and make its way around Puget Sound.
“Autumn, the youngest daughter of Jason and Kelly, and her spouse, Jamie Streetman, arrived in Seattle without incident and were informed about the accident,” the statement continued.
