Tragically, Dr. Shahid Siddique, a well-known private hospital owner and local Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader, died outside a mosque in Valencia Town, Lahore.
Dr. Siddique was the target of four shots fired by an unidentified assailant shortly after Friday prayers.
Police sources state that Dr. Shahid Siddique was attacked outside the mosque after concluding his Friday prayers.
Authorities are conducting a comprehensive investigation into a number of issues, including the potential for targeted killing, in order to determine the purpose behind the incident.
Usman Anwar, the Inspector General (IG) of Punjab, has directed all available resources to expeditiously resolve the matter and has ordered urgent steps to identify the perpetrator(s).
Additionally, the IG has requested a thorough report on the event from DIG Operations.
