KARACHI: Kamran Tessori, the current governor of Sindh, has stated that he will remain in public service despite widespread reports of a consensus between the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) regarding a potential replacement for the position.
In response to inquiries on his possible replacement, he stated on Saturday, “The positions keep coming and going but I will continue to serve the people till I am on the governor’s post.”
Tessori stated that Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, the leader of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P), President Asif Ali Zardari, and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif all had faith in him.
“I will continue to fulfill my responsibilities as Sindh governor,” he stated.According to Tessori, a MQM-P member, the reports about the governor’s potential replacement first arose following their meeting with the prime minister last night (Friday).
“I would tell those behind these reports that I am not the one who gets panic [by such reports],” said the governor.
During the media briefing, Sattar, who stood on Tessori’s side, stated that there are persistent rumors about the governor of Sindh being replaced.
