As a result of an increase in the use of alcohol and “powder” or “tablets,” more individuals are acting aggressively, according to Ryanair CEO Michael O’Leary.
Additionally, Mr. O’Leary stated that the low-cost airline handles assault situations on a weekly basis.
“Ibiza is the worst destination for it, hands down,” Mr. O’Leary continued.
The carrier’s director of inflight, Sinead Quinn, stated that the offenders are frequently the ones “you least expect” and don’t match any one stereotype.
Mr. O’Leary also noted that passenger fighting was becoming more common.
Airfares have started to decline after growing by almost 20% for the previous two years, and Mr. O’Leary predicts that they will decrease an additional 5% as winter approaches.Travel from beach resorts like Ibiza and Greek islands to regional airports like Liverpool, Glasgow, Manchester, and Edinburgh flights is “notably bad.” The issue affects all airlines in Europe.
Although Mr. O’Leary claimed there are issues with flights to and from Germany and Ireland, it is on those flights that policies like bag searches are implemented to make sure no alcohol is brought on board.
