The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine in the Near East (UNRWA) stated in a post on X that two airstrikes that struck a school and its surroundings in the middle territories today resulted in the deaths of six colleagues.
The manager of the UNRWA shelter and other staff members who helped displaced individuals were among those slain.
“My deepest sympathies go out to their loved ones and families. Since the start of the war, this school has been attacked five times.
Approximately 12,000 displaced individuals, mostly women and children, call it home. In Gaza, nobody is safe. Nobody is exempt.
Civilian infrastructure, including schools, have to be safeguarded constantly; they are not targets.
Approximately 1,200 people, primarily civilians, were killed by terrorists commanded by Hamas on October 7, when they attacked Israel, starting the war.
They still possess roughly 100 of the 250 that they kidnapped; a third is thought to be dead.
According to the IDF, since the ground operation in Gaza started in late October, 340 Israeli troops have died; at least 50 of them died in incidents within Gaza, not from fighting Palestinian militants.
