Although veils have long been a common wedding-day decoration, brides no longer wear them atop their heads before walking down the aisle.
The wedding veil’s origins can be traced to classical Greece and Rome.

According to Natalya Kolosok, CEO of New York City Bride, in a phone conversation with News, the veil served as a form of protection from evil spirits in the early days of wedding veiling.
The symbolism of the veil expanded as Christianity spread throughout Europe, representing modesty, virginity, and purity, according to Kolosok.
“Although many of our Grace brides wear veils to elevate their bridal look and reflect their unique style, they have evolved into a fashion statement,” said Rosie Keating, head designer of Grace Loves Lace, an online store with locations across the UK, Canada, and Australia in addition to their Burleigh Heads, Australia headquarters.
The veil is frequently worn as a beautiful, elegant accessory.
