LAHORE: On Monday, a large sinkhole on a major road in Johar Town suddenly formed, causing major traffic interruptions for three cars.
After a car and two motorcycles were forced into the sinkhole, residents used a ladder to rescue commuters who were stranded inside the enormous hole in the earth.
On social media, a video of the incident that showed bystanders assisting the stranded commuters also went viral.
A depression in the earth without any naturally occurring exterior surface drainage is called a sinkhole.
The massive crater in the ground in Johar Town, according to representatives of the Lahore Development Authority (LDA), was caused by an underground sewer line leak.
