KARACHI: Due to the current depression in the Arabian Sea, which is predicted to continue moving towards the coast of Oman, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) issued a warning to fisherman on Tuesday not to venture into deep seas.
“The depression over West-central Arabian Sea has slowly moved further westward during the past 10 hours and is at a distance of about 1,190km southwest of Karachi,” according to a statement from the Met Office.
It added that sea conditions will remain challenging until evening and improve thereafter. It noted that winds of 30 to 40 km/h with gusts of up to 50 km/h are likely around the system center until evening and then decrease.
According to the PMD, by this afternoon, the system is probably going to weaken into a clearly defined low-pressure area.
