In a letter to the Chief Justice of the Lahore High Court, the Punjab Prosecutor General, Syed Farhad Ali Shah, disclosed that the local magistrate had coerced the victim into settling the case and had even unlawfully proposed marriage to the 58-year-old accused.
This October 15, 2024, letter describes the case that is filed at the Kot Momin Police Station in the Sargodha District. Under Section 10(3) of the Punjab Prosecution Service Act 2006, the Prosecutor General designated the case as high-profile and called a meeting with the victim, the SHO, the investigating officer, and any pertinent prosecutors to discuss the findings of the investigation.
