A significant expenditure of Rs. 43 billion has been agreed by the Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) to install environmentally efficient buses in five major Punjabi cities.
The project, which was authorized during the 39th meeting of the PDWP, which was presided over by Nabeel Awan, chairman of the Planning and Development Board, intends to enhance public transit while tackling environmental issues.
Along with other senior board members, important officials attended the meeting, including Chief Economist Masood Anwar, Transport Department Secretary Ahmed Javed Qazi, and P&D Board Secretary Dr. Asif Tufail.
The new buses will be introduced by the initiative in Bahawalpur, Faisalabad, Multan, Lahore, and Rawalpindi.
By enhancing the quality of the air in these cities, the project seeks to lower air pollution. Additionally, by offering a more effective mode of transportation, it seeks to reduce traffic congestion.
