An existential threat to the industry is posed by the persistent internet delay and prohibitions on the usage of virtual private networks (VPNs), according to the Pakistan Software Houses Association (P@SHA), the highest authority representing Pakistan’s IT sector.
In a statement, P@SHA Chairman Sajjad Mustafa Syed cautioned that these actions could result in irreversible financial losses, service interruptions, and harm to one’s reputation, especially when it comes to exporting IT and IT-enabled Services (ITeS), according to The News.
He clarified that by prohibiting VPNs, key Fortune 500 clients would be lost and operations for IT firms, call centers, and BPO organizations would be severely disrupted.
The cybersecurity and data privacy that our clients depend on are guaranteed by VPNs, which are a global standard. any tampering with these security measures by private or public organizations.
