Fans of The Notebook have questioned Allie Hamilton’s choice of Noah Calhoun over Lon Hammond.
James Marsden openly defended the 2004 film’s conclusion in an interview with People.
In the romance film, Marsden costarred with James Garner, Gena Rowlands, Rachel McAdams, and Ryan Gosling.
He remarked, “[Lon was] the whole package,” after being contacted by numerous fans who felt that McAdams’s character, Hamilton, ought to have gotten Hammond.
The Hollywood actor claimed that “Allie and Noah were in a toxic, unhealthy relationship, and you were like this rich guy, and you treated her right, and you trusted her.”
