According to Vance, the US administration’s current challenge is to assist Russia and Ukraine in “finding middle ground” in order to put an end to the conflict, which has been going on for more than three years.
However, Vance stated, “it’s going to be up to [Russia and Ukraine] to come to an agreement and stop this brutal, brutal conflict” .
His remarks followed Washington and Kyiv’s agreement to split Ukraine’s rare earth resource riches in exchange for future US security support.
Vance made the remarks during a lengthy interview in which he defended Trump’s strategy about the conflict in Ukraine.
