Washington: As the competing superpowers get ready for trade negotiations over the weekend, US President Donald Trump hinted on Friday that he would reduce tariffs on Chinese goods.
“80% Tariff on China seems right!” The total tariffs on some commodities would drop from 145% to a startling 245%, Trump stated on his Truth Social platform.
In reference to US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, who will meet with China’s Vice Premier He Lifeng this weekend in Geneva in an attempt to defuse the tension engulfing global markets, he added that it was “Up to Scott B.”
