AJ McLean has opened out about his battle with drug addiction and acknowledged that he “dodged a huge bullet” amid the fentanyl crisis in America.
The 47-year-old singer and original member of the pop singing group Backstreet Boys said that his relapse a few years ago could have been far worse in an interview with Lulu on The Lulu Podcast: Turning Points.
Before making a full recovery in 2019, the Quit Playing Games singer battled a serious addiction for 20 years.
The fentanyl issue hadn’t reached its current level, but it was still happening; it wasn’t as widely known as it is now, but fortunately for me, I avoided a major bullet, McLean joked.
