A truck carrying sacrificial animals valued at over Rs600,000 was intercepted by armed robbers in Liaquatabad, Karachi, on Tuesday, indicating an increase in criminal activity ahead of Eid-ul-Adha, according to The News.
The animals were being transported to Orangi Town after being bought from Bhains Colony, according to the police, when armed men in a car halted the truck. After forcing the driver out of the truck while holding him at gunpoint, the suspects took the truck and fled.
CCTV footage of the robbery in progress has surfaced. The FIR claims that during the crime, the driver was put in the suspects’ vehicle and drove off with the truck full of animals.
