After more than a year and a half of the war in Gaza, Britain appears to have finally had enough of Israel.
Foreign Secretary David Lammy and Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer sounded authentically irate as they addressed MPs.
“Intolerable” is how Sir Keir described the extent of suffering in Gaza, particularly among defenseless youngsters.
He referred to Israel’s decision to permit a limited quantity of aid as “utterly inadequate”.
The prime minister went on to say that Israel’s choice to intensify its military campaign “horrified” him.
Lammy used similar words when he described the situation in Gaza as “abominable”.
He denounced as “monstrous” the proposal by Bezalel Smotrich, Israel’s hardline finance minister, to rid Gaza of its civilian population.
