Palestinian medics say that within the course of a half-hour period overnight, Israeli airstrikes killed at least 38 Palestinians throughout the Gaza Strip.
According to the Hamas-run civil defense service, Israeli airplanes hit a number of targets, including an abandoned gasoline station in the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza that was providing shelter to displaced people and a school in eastern Gaza City.
It further stated that the severity of the shelling and a lack of equipment were making it extremely difficult for rescue crews to reach the injured.
