KARACHI: Dr. Waseem Jamalvi, president of the Pakistan Pediatric Association Sindh, stated on Thursday that the number of patients with diarrhea has significantly increased in Karachi due to the rising temperatures.
Dr. Jamalvi told Geo News that every day, scores of people with diarrhea are taken to government hospitals. He emphasized that the current wave of the illness primarily affects children.
He said that poor food and tainted water were the main causes of diarrhea. Dr. Jamalvi cautioned that severe dehydration brought on by diarrhea can be fatal.
