SYDNEY: Three days of nonstop rain wrecked homes, carried away cattle, and cut off entire communities in southeast Australia. On Friday, the body of a man was discovered in a car stuck in floodwaters, bringing the death toll to four.
According to police, the individual was discovered about 550 kilometers (342 miles) north of Sydney, close to Coffs Harbour. Since the flood started early this week, the search for a missing person has been ongoing.
Emergency services officials reported that some 50,000 people are still isolated, and locals were cautioned to be cautious as they returned to their flooded houses.
“You must evaluate the dangers associated with floodwaters since they contain toxins and may harbor snakes and rodents.
