It seems like Steve “Mongo” McMichael got positive news on Wednesday following a difficult week in the hospital.
After spending last week in intensive care, one of the newest members of the Pro Football Hall of Fame will be released from the hospital.
The information was disclosed in a post on X by the son of McMichael’s former Chicago Bears teammate, Walter Payton.
“Mongo is set to return home tomorrow!” Written by Jarrett Payton. “We appreciate all the prayers and kindly ask for continued thoughts and prayers for Steve and his family.”
Regarding McMichael’s position, Betsy Shepherd, his spokeswoman, told The Associated Press the same thing.
The family assumed McMichael had pneumonia when he visited the hospital last week. But as it turned out, he also had a urinary tract infection and MRSA, necessitating it.
