The Punjab government has agreed to speed up the approval procedure for a short-term budget in the provincial assembly.
According to official sources, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has directed the finance department to create the required papers for this purpose.
During the last assembly session, the Punjab government approved a one-month budget expenditure until March 31. However, with the current budget term about to expire, there is an urgent need to make budgetary preparations for the following months.
Following the completion of the budget preparations, the Punjab Assembly will meet to deliberate and approve the proposed budget. The Punjab government hopes to gain the assembly’s approval for financial allocations until June.
