The Northern Ireland warning, which states that “a few” houses and businesses could flood, remains in effect until 3am on Friday, while the caution for the southern part of England expired at 11:59 p.m. on Thursday.
Since many schools have a two-week break after the bank holiday weekend, the unsettling conditions are likely to last until Easter.
