KARACHI: Due to two westerly systems, rainfall is predicted for the metropolis starting today. The people of Karachi should prepare accordingly.

According to weather specialist Jawad Memon, the first system is predicted to bring rain and thunderstorms to the city from April 13 (today) to April 15.

According to Memon, there is a risk of light to moderate rain with wind and up to 15 millimeters of rain during this time.

He added that rain is also anticipated in Karachi and its surrounding areas on April 14 (tomorrow), with periods of precipitation perhaps lasting till April 15 morning. He stated that thunderstorm clouds could gather in the suburban districts by this evening.

The second system of westerly waves is expected to reach the southern regions of the country on April 17, according to the meteorologist.

This system may bring rain to Karachi and the coastal regions of Sindh and Balochistan.

He warned that starting on April 17, thunder cells could emerge in Karachi’s suburbs under the system. On the other hand, he continued, Karachi might have rain and thunderstorms on April 18 and 19.

In previous reports, the Met department stated that there would be moderate to heavy rainfall in many parts of Sindh, including Sukkur and Larkana, in the upcoming days.
