An operation targeting “illegal misuse” of electric scooters would target riders who are causing a nuisance.
There has been an increase in referrals to Northamptonshire Police from people who are worried about drivers of private e-scooters being driven recklessly.
West Northamptonshire Council said it would be trying to educate and warn e-scooter users in Daventry about safety, alongside the police.
The council also stated that the event would happen in the town twice between Thursday and mid-June.
In Northampton, people have been able to rent the two-wheeled vehicles from 2020.
But only on private property may one operate an e-scooter that is privately owned.
Police have the authority to confiscate them if they are being used in an antisocial way or if they are frightening, bothering, or upsetting people.
E-scooters would be seized if the riders were underage during the activity or if there was no insurance.
According to Matt O’Connell, manager of the safer roads team, “we want to reassure the local community that we are listening to their concerns and acting upon them, and I hope this is demonstrated through this enforcement action.”
