According to UN spokesman Stephane Dujarric, just 25% of the 5,000 beds required to address trauma and emergency needs in Gaza are accessible.
He pointed out that out of the 77 primary health centers, almost 75% are completely non-operational.
“Al-Aqsa, Nasser, and the Gaza European hospital are at risk of closure due to the ongoing hostilities in Deir el-Balah and Khan Younis, as well as evacuation orders in nearby areas,” stated Dujarric.
According to Dujarric, “there are still treatment disruptions for about 485,000 people with mental health disorders and about 350,000 people with chronic illnesses in Gaza.”
Due to subpar living circumstances, packed shelters, and limited access to clean water, sanitary facilities, and hygiene products, around 1.9 million displaced persons are at danger of contracting infectious diseases.
