Additionally, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has challenged the newly issued presidential ordinance on the Supreme Court Practice and Procedure Act in a constitutional suit filed with the Supreme Court.
Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, speaking for the PTI, filed the lawsuit asking for the ordinance to be ruled illegal.
The PTI has said in the appeal that all rulings rendered by the newly established Supreme Court and Procedure Committee ought to be overturned as unlawful after the presidential edict was passed.
In addition, the petition demands that the recently formed Practice and Procedure Committee be put on hold while the ongoing constitutional petition is settled. Additionally, the PTI has asked that the previous committee be permitted to continue operating in the interim.
