Tax experts anticipate an extension of the Federal Board of Revenue’s (FBR) September 30 deadline for filing income tax returns for the 2024 tax year.
According to Business Recorder, Asif S. Kasbati, a senior member of the ICAP Fiscal Laws Committee, individuals and Associations of Persons (AOPs) having a tax year from July 1, 2023, to June 30, 2024, must file their returns by September 30, 2024.
However, Kasbati thinks an extension is likely because of a number of circumstances.
Kasbati underlined the conditions listed in Section 118, pointing out that the September deadline must be met by both people and AOPs, as well as businesses whose fiscal years conclude between July 1, 2023, and December 31, 2023.
