Asadullah Bugti and Manzoor Bugti were abducted by dacoits four days ago while driving on the Ghouspur-Tangwani link road. The protest leaders, Norez Khan Bugti, Syed Ahmed Bugti, Asdar Bugti, and others, informed the local media that the hostages were handcuffed and that the kidnappers had released a video clip on social media showing the hostages pleading with their family members.
They declared their protest to be in support of the captives’ release. According to them, the kidnappers were requesting Rs. 100 million in exchange for their families’ release. They claimed that while police watched on helplessly, dacoits were robbing passengers and taking them captive with total impunity and no fear of repercussions.
They threatened to hold sit-ins on the Indus Highway and perform protests until the hostages were freed from the dacoits’ grasp before calling off the demonstration after a few hours.
