A petition against Muhammad Akram’s detention as the former Deputy Superintendent of Adiala Jail was dismissed by the Lahore High Court Rawalpindi Bench.
The petitioner’s attorney withdrew the petition after learning of the arrest. The matter was then dismissed by Justice Chaudhry Abdul Aziz.
The Assistant Advocate General told the court during the hearing that Akram had been taken into custody by the Sheikhupura Anti-Corruption Establishment on suspicion of taking a bribe of Rs95,000 in particular.
The Sheikhupura Anti-Corruption Court had provided a physical remand, the court was also informed.
