This is a personal account of the breast cancer journey taken by my mother. It ran from September 18, 2018, until October 15, 2020.
I gained several priceless life lessons from my mother along her trip, including how to laugh through difficult moments and deal with hurt and disappointment. I also learned that a lot of people in our culture are not emotionally intelligent or empathetic. Emotional demands are frequently disregarded in a sector as significant as medicine, where decisions have a direct impact on people’s lives.
The tinny voice on my cell phone tells me, every time I make a call, how to check your breasts for lumps so that cancer can be found early and treated. Breast cancer is a terrible illness that necessitates education and comprehension.
