At the Game Awards, the adorable and vibrant PlayStation platformer defeated Balatro, Metaphor: Refantazio Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree, Black Myth: Wukong, and Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth to win Game of the Year.
The head of Team Asobi’s studio, Nicolas Doucet, seemed to honor rival Nintendo as he accepted the prize.
Three other categories were also won by Astro Bot: Best Action/Adventure, Best Family Game, and Best Game Direction.
