According to local officials, a Russian missile and drone attack on Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine, overnight has killed at least 12 people and injured over 80 more, including children.
Vitali Klitschko, the mayor of Kyiv, stated Thursday morning that there were several fires caused by falling drone wreckage from the previous night’s raids, and it was suspected that people were trapped beneath the debris of a residential building.
At least two persons were injured in blasts that were also reported in Kharkiv, a city in the northeast, according to the mayor.
Volodymyr Zelensky, the president of Ukraine, declared Thursday morning that he would shorten his trip to South Africa in response to the attacks.
