In a suspected assassination, assailants on a motorcycle shot and killed a Kenyan parliamentarian on the streets of the country’s capital, Nairobi.
Charles Ong’ondo Were was shot at close range by one of the attackers who got off the motorcycle after they had been pursuing his car, according to the police.
In a statement, police spokesperson Muchiri Nyaga stated, “The nature of this crime appears to be both targeted and predetermined.”
According to local media, the opposition MP had complained about threats on his life two months prior.
