With provocative comments implying that Bangladesh should occupy India’s northeastern states in the event that India retaliates against Pakistan over the recent Pahalgam terror attack that claimed 26 lives, a retired Bangladeshi military officer and close aide to Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus has stirred controversy.
The National Independent Investigation Commission’s current chair, Major General (retd) ALM Fazlur Rahman, wrote on Facebook that “Bangladesh will have to occupy the seven northeastern states of India” if India strikes Pakistan.
In order to achieve this goal, he also promoted a cooperative military agreement with China.
