The top court said in a statement that the Judicial Commission of Pakistan (JCP) had extended the term of the Supreme Court’s constitutional bench till November 30, 2025.
At a JCP meeting at the Supreme Court headquarters in Islamabad, the decision was made. Yahya Afridi, the Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP), presided over the meeting.
The statement claims that the JCP convened two distinct sessions on Thursday to discuss issues pertaining to judicial performance reviews and the constitutional benches of the Supreme Court and the High Court of Sindh.
The JCP agreed to extend the Supreme Court’s constitutional bench until November 30, 2025, during the inaugural meeting.
