The family of Haider Ali Zaidi, a police officer who participated in a Karachi operation in the 1990s, is suffering death threats from criminals, according to The News on Sunday.
Haider, who played a major role in the Karachi operation, has previously been attacked by militants and is now receiving death threats, along with his family.
The former Bahadurabad station house officer (SHO) was critically injured in an incident at Safari Park in 2013. Following the repeated attacks, Haider’s brothers, Syed Shahid Ali Zaidi and Sultan Ali Zaidi, fled the country.
“My mother recently received a threatening call by unknown culprits warning that they would kill her sons soon after they return to Pakistan,” the police officer said.
Haider stated that the frequent attacks on him and his brothers prompted them to leave Pakistan. He went on to say that they moved abroad to save their lives and now want to return to the nation, but they have been receiving death threats again.
The cop’s younger brother, Shahid, was injured in a knife attack by terrorists in 2018 and was targeted again in 2019 by assailants, who injured him in the crossfire.
