Former friend of the German drifter, Helge Busching, claimed that after informing Scotland Yard’s Madeleine squad in 2017, he was interviewed for three days.
However, he testified in court that he introduced Christian B to the McCanns’ private investigator Dave Edgar for the first time in 2008. That was the year that she vanished from the family’s rented vacation home in Portugal.
Mr. Edgar claimed to News that he had recently been employed by the Busching family and was sorting through a lot of tip-offs at the time, so he could not recollect any messages or conversations with Mr. Busching.
Mr. Busching claimed that after he phoned Scotland Yard, officers were dispatched to interview him for three days in his home country of Greece.
