The deputy Labour leader provided information about her living arrangement ten years ago, and Greater Manchester Police (GMP) announced earlier on Friday that it was looking into the accusations again.
Following allegations from neighbors that purportedly refuted Ms. Rayner’s assertion that her property on Vicarage Road, Stockport, was her primary residence rather than her husband’s, as some have suggested, GMP took the decision. James Daly, a Conservative MP, forwarded this information to the force.
It is against electoral law to intentionally provide false information on voter registration application forms.
On multiple occasions, Ms. Rayner has insisted that her main address was her house on Vicarage Road, not the approximately mile-away house on Lowndes Lane, where her then-husband Mark Rayner lived.
