ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court has clarified that it never sought an exemption from body searches at airports for serving judges’ wives, noting that a letter was sent to the Aviation Ministry to highlight a “anomaly,” The News reported on Tuesday.
According to the letter, Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Qazi Faez Isa on Monday denied the use of the VIP lounge at the Islamabad airport as well as the use of a luxury vehicle that takes the VIPs straight up to the aircraft.
According to the official, body search exemption cards for judges’ spouses have not been obtained, and the spouse of CJP Isa herself walked into the ASF cubicle and was searched by a lady officer.
