According to The News on Monday, Maulana Fazlur Rehman, the leader of Jamiat-Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F), promised to keep fighting against the purported election cheating until all political parties agree on the matter.
Speaking virtually to the JUI-F’s office bearers from the districts of Peshawar, Mohmand, and Khyber, Fazl emphasized the party’s ability to organize protests and inspire big crowds of people while recalling the JUI-F’s history of rejecting election rigging.
“We would keep filling the space with large-scale demonstrations. The head of JUI-F declared, “We would keep fighting the rigged elections outside of parliament.
His comments coincide with the party’s ongoing challenges to the legitimacy and transparency of the general elections, which it has consistently made with its historically steadfast foe Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
