The three bodies have been recognized by the relatives of Jack Carter Rhoad, Jake and Callum Robinson.
The three, who had shared pictures of remote beaches on social media, vanished a week ago while surfing close to the US border in the northern city of Ensenada.
Prosecutor María Elena Andrade Ramírez stated that the men most likely fought the thieves’ attempts to take their tires after they noticed their truck and tents.
The bodies, according to her, were transported to “a site that is extremely hard to get to” in the state of Baja California.
A fourth body that had been there for much longer was also recovered in the well, which was close to where their truck and tent were discovered on Thursday.
